Tracy Pasieka, PhD

Tracy Pasieka is the CIBS Biomarker Core and Lab manager. She received her PhD in microbiology from the University of Iowa and finished her post-doctoral training at Washington University in St Louis. While there, her research focus was on neuroimmunology and viral infections, including herpes simplex and West Nile, and mouse research on multiple sclerosis. After 18 years in St Louis, she was recruited to University of Michigan where, as a senior staff scientist and a lab manager, she focused on the role of B cells in organ transplants, vaccine design, and infections. Tracy comes to Vanderbilt to help lead the biomarker core through integration of new studies and technologies that will help to elucidate the mechanisms and predict outcomes of brain injuries including delirium and traumatic brain injury.
