The CIBS Center welcomed Dr. Rana Awdish, author of the widely acclaimed “In Shock,“ to Vanderbilt on December 10, 2018 for a visiting professorship. She pointed us towards better communication, empathy, and overall patient care using insights from her amazing life story.

I sent your website to my family and it has changed my wife’s opinion about me. There is something about knowing that I am not alone and it isn’t my fault that makes a difference.
