Dr. Cordoza's research is at the intersection of sleep and cognitive function. She leverages her experience working as a critical care nurse, with her research training in sleep and circadian neurobiology to investigating the role of sleep and circadian disruption in the development of neurocognitive impairment in adults experiencing acute and chronic illness requiring hospitalization. Dr. Cordoza's ultimate goal is to develop targeted interventions that improve sleep and circadian rhythmicity as a mechanism to protect neurocognitive function during hospitalization and as part of the recovery trajectory for critical illness survivors.
